Setting up 8-Port KVM for my Retro Computers...

3 of the 8 computers use Serial Mice. I know using a Serial to PS2 Converter coming out of the PC wont work as the mouse wont function from the console side. I am fine having two mice plugged in for the console (serial and a PS2) but for the connections from the PC to the KVM, can I use a straight through DB9 female to male cable to get the mouse connection through?

Something like this - http://www.ebay.com/itm/5FT-1-5M-9-Pin-Extension-Cable-Serial-Direct-Male-to-Female-RS232-DB9-M-F-NEW-Us-/381608447842?hash=item58d9a2cf62:g:K80AAOSw-YBXGWfq

Or do I need something else? If this doesnt work, what is the purpose of each of the KVM ports having a serial mouse input as well as the console port also having one?

Yes, that will work.
