Few years ago saw a kit on the Ebay - a chip that replace one in Kaypro MFM contoller and a diskette it allows to use a Seagate ST-225 instead of it's original HDD. Is it true and can this set be bought or ordered now somewhere ?

And why I write that... Tried to boot my K10 after few weeks it wasnt in use, at first it refused to boot from the HDD, only the indicator was glowing still. Then I booted it from diskette, and then suddenly the sound of the HDD engine started, I pressed the restart button and it booted from the HDD. I was afraid that HDD is broken, but at least now it is ok.)

I do not know if the stock Kaypro 10 can do it. But look at the KayPlus rom

The Advent Turbo rom page is gone.

You could go modern and not worry about your HDD crashing, with KayFreHD

..and there is this one too (no drivers for it yet, though) - uIDE:

I'll declare an interest at this point as I designed the uIDE cards.

Thanks for the answern ! I think I'll try to buy an Amstrad PCW8512 (As it was my first computer from 1988 to 1994) and then order your card for it.

I have an st 225 in my k10. Half of it is unused. The format/install disks did not know the difference.
