Good Evening,

I was able to get my hands on an old tandy 1000, and it has two Teac FD-54B-02U. It would appear these are 360k drives 5.25 1/2 height drives. I am wondering if I be smart to hold onto these since I am trying to piece meal a xt/pc together.
I also have a tandy 25-1004 256k memory upgrade board I have no clue what to do with ha.

Teac made very good drives so keep them.

If your Tandy 1000 is busted beyond repair, someone will want that memory card. It includes DMA which corrects one of the major irritants with the original 1000.

Yeah its too slow for I want and I have a TX that has 768k, I am guessing there was an upgrade on the motherboard. I do see extra memory chips and I am guessing that is where the extra 128k is coming from. It also had what looked a hard drive in it at one point, it has sto5x seagate bios with 40 pin connection. I am guessing this would be useful too. I was able to get a hold of a 5160 someone said doesn't work which is fine since I went a little overboard on buying vintage stuff. I couldn't pass up whole machine monitor and keyboard. I remember as a kid my computer teacher wouldn't sell me a new pc until i put it together ha. It had that flip top case too. Big 63.5 watt power supply.. funny thing is I had two full height 10meg mfm hard drives. I had to let one spin up and then plug other in for it to work at all. good old times. I am still on the hunt for a decent priced ega but so far on ebay they are just insanely op imho. thanks again

Do you have an EGA monitor? I have an Everex Micro Enhancer that I may part with...
