The card looks like it has more memory than a MDA card should have so it is mostly likely a full length Hercules clone card with parallel port.

Motherboard: Need an image of the entire board but it probably is a fairly generic clone. Model number shown does not indicate anything to me.

It's weird that the main middle chip says 8645 instead of 6845. Maybe a house number. The 8616 is probably the date code.

The machine also had a trident vg-2000 cars in it so what would it need a Hercules card for as well?

Dual display setup? Too lazy to pull the old card once they upgraded? Staticy fingers?

It was a lot easier to debug graphics programs by having the debugger show up on the mono monitor.

Thanks for the information on the card....

Found out a little more - apparently its a Packard Bell Motherboard - PWB-2080 - but I cant find any other information on it. Stason has some other PWB- motherboards listed for PB, but none with this number listed.

Did Packard Bell make decent computers in the 286 era? Curious if I should take the time to put any upgrades in this (Better Video Card / SB 2.0 Sound Card / Quantum HardCard XL II) or look for another board?

I dont know how much RAM is on the board, but it also has a 2 MB ISA RAM Card installed in it, so I dont know total RAM. I dont think I can upgrade it and I want at least 4 MB in the 286 I'd like to run. Also curious if I can upgrade the proc to a 16.

The processor has a heatsink on it, but isnt soldered to the board, so I could take it out and use for another board as well.

I ran DESQview like that for a long time. Very handy.
