The title says it all. One of the screens in my ever expanding collection of Toshiba laptops has emitted a terrible whine from the LCD screen for days now, and it's not stopping. Does anyone know if this could be a capacitor issue?

If the issue is unsolvable, is there a very cheap replacement for the screen itself around, compatible with the connector and the mounts? It doesn't have to be the same model or manufacturer, as long as it fits and works.

I have found that the smaller laptop inverters in some cases used those telltale surface mount capacitors. The extra noise could be an indication the coils are not liking them failing.
