I finally got my Magnavox Metalis 28 apart. It uses quite a clever slide out keyboard like design.

Well, I found its dead CP-2024 drive, but its BIOS setting only allows for 20,30,40 and 60MB drives, with no custom cylinder option. Which drive would work. I tried a 810MB drive and it wouldn't work. I really don't want to fetch the cash for another CP-2024 drive. Will a 32MB flash card work?

Try IDE to CF adapter and the 32 MB CF.

Butttt...

Check out if your CP-2024 is 16 Bit AT-BUS IDE or 8 Bit XT-BUS drive... If the last, your PC has also only XT bus interface, that is not compatible to AT-Bus / IDE. It only looks the same.

The other alternative would be an XT-IDE controller, then you are very flexible in choosing the harddrive or CF card.

Put a 60 MB partition on the 810 drive and then put it into the Magnavox and see what happens.

FWIW, the CP-2024 is an AT drive.
