It is specialized test equipment for communications hardware.

The CPU is unknown. There is 64K of storage on it. 78 keys on the keyboard. Display is 16 by 64 or 24 by 80. The tape unit can store up to 2.1MB

No idea of the age. I'd guess at least 20. It is no longer supported.

Another random thought .. The PT probably stands for 'protocol tester'.

Yeah, except for those few minor parts, it's mint right out of the box.
Obviously no IQ test required for selling on e-bay, just a CC and a willingness to get gouged everytime you turn around.
