Rs/6000 B50 - Aix 4.3.3?

Hi all

I am aiming to learn something about AIX as we use that at our headoffice. To help me, I bought an RS6000 on ebay but it does not have AIX installed. I can't find any help on IBMs web site.

Does anyone know if it is possible to download AIX 4.3.3? After reading the manuals online, the box I have is licenced for it. I am just unable to find the software to install to it.

4.3.3 was killed off early last year. I would contact a local IBM sales rep and see if they can do anything for you. Your hardware may be compatible with a AIX 5.xx. Although, I am not sure of what kind of price we are talking about. You may want to contact your IT staff about getting an older copy of AIX or whatnot.

Proprietary UNIX's are cool, but sometimes far too expensive to have at home :(
