I tried getting a 8-pin DIN to 9-pin RGB monitor cable, and for that, a coupler for RGB to VGA, but nothing happened. Literally, the monitor acted like I wasn't inputting any signal at all.

Well it has a DIP switch panel to alter the video signal, but the fact remains that it outputs that signal through an 8-pin DIN jack, and the cord that came with it had a 7-pin plug on the other end....
