I will be in the area in 2 weeks, unfortunately with a wife on our annual roadtrip up the coast from SD to SF. I would take everything but she wont let me!
I still program in a dialect of BASIC on a weekly basis for work. VBA behind MS Office (Excel specifically).
It's really stretching the definition of BASIC, but it's a dialect nonetheless. .
What do you do when you have a CRT/chassis/power supply and an 8086 planar, but the rest went into building your 25-286?
You spend an hour in the garage with a circular saw and a drill and make a...
It's quite likely that they have fallen victim to the same problem as so many other shippers recently.
The volume being shipped has been higher than christmas rush levels, for 10 months straight....

Essentially, it's plug the drive in and hope. Some drives work, some planars work.
I never tried with my 8086 machine and it's blown up into pieces right now.
They do not support 1.44 officially but there are a couple of ways to work around that.
I cheated and spent $15 instead of modifying the stock floppy cable

You will need to flash the gotek with Flashfloppy, the stock...
And solved it. Jumper needed on J5 for PS/2 to recognize the gotek as high density. Also solved my chicken and egg problem of getting the starter disk to boot. I had worked around that by booting...
More information.
If I select a 1.44M image, Checkit says no disk is present
If I select a 720K imgage, Checkit will recognize the disk, but has a Read error on 100% of the Random reads tried.
CheckIt is reporting the drive as 3.5" 720K, that seems like an issue.
I have reset the PS/2 bios settings more than once, same results!
Hello all!
I have my Model 25 updated a little bit. It started as a monochrome 25-001, now in the same skin but sporting a color display and 30-286 motherboard as well as an XTIDE-lite to replace...
Are you guys browsing from work?
I too can stay logged in for weeks from my home computers and my phone, but will be logged out in minutes if using my work machine through the VPN. It seems like...
Maybe ots time to think about what the collection is for, and depending why you have the machines, you should divest yourself of some of them?
I tend to roll machines through relatively quickly as...
Just never have them all in the same place at the same time. That's a good way to get busted! I have found anything past 3 of something my wife isn't interested in and she doesn't count because she...
Try giving the board/connector on the neck of the tube a gentle twist back and forth. GENTLE. I've had a couple of tubes that had flaky behavior like this, it turned out the neck socket was just a...

Have you checked the rails for shorts at all?
Loaded the new version, all working.
I haven't had a chance to check the new version, but I found a "bug". If you LH FREESPT with no or not enough high memory left, you get no error message and the tsr does not install. It also seems to...
Your program's error message.
I was somewhat joking, it was akin to an ARF error when you forget to put a floppy in, or the CD-rom tray is open. 100% user error.
Tou are right though, a...
Installed the TSR this afternoon, everything is working great.
The only issue I had was repeated drive no found errors.... forgetting I had pulled the 2nd CF out (was temporary, building image for...
SOC makes fuses, so a 5A fuse would make sense.
A blown fuse would explain the lack of life.
I also have a pair of PALC16R8, same situation, old stock never used.
