Still looking for a head for a Disk II drive...
One key thing is there is a macintosh SE and an Macintosh SE FDHD (I have both and can show you photos) the FDHD came stock with a newer ROM that supproted the 2MB superdrive (which was included)....
Please I would take thier ignorance today over the uselessness of modern store workers. "Hello, Where is this item?" answer " I dont know, you can go ask someone else at the front desk"
Thanks...
I miss real "department stores" like sears, j.c. penney , and gfox.. Remember when those places were so elaborste they had professional vlerks running each department. I remember may family buying me...
Shadowlord: yes they sold a computer system with large screen crt tv that was an entertainment system.. Forget the name.. But THEY DID try and just sell tvs tgier as well.
Yeah I agree about newegg. I dont even feel compelled to send anyone there anymore. Same with Directron.com
You lucky dog.
right, I didnt think it was that big of a problem.. Finding the expansion base for ISA cards is obviously a bigger problem.
If I can order it, ill give it a try. I like locally made sodas, especially if they have diet options. In the city I grew up in, there is still a local sodaworks which was opened in the early 1900s...
Well it was nice to have a place you could drive to if you needed something NOW! But that has become a thing of the past it seems. Damn shame.
Diet fudge soda huh? Sounds pretty interesting. Love me...
so why don't you use a CF card to IDE adapter and set that up?
Huh thats strange. The only Frys I ever saw was in San Diego. It was huge. Considering Radio shack stopped selling electronic components forever ago, it was nice to see a store still sell them; even...
I never said my floppy emu was slow. I said its slow when in Lisa mode. All other modes are fine. I love my floppy emu. Worth every penny.
And i have the newest firmware in case anyone was...
If thats true thats news to me... good news. What about the 1.44/2MB (is it super drive?) variety of sony floppies? I take it those WILL NOT work?
Yep me too.. And its really really slow.
Pretty cool got to try it out.
Yes thats right sa 400 shugart mechanisms.
Dont have to Shirsh.. If you read his bmow postings when he was developing usage of the floppy emu on the Lisa he goes on to explain how timing was a big problem and how slow it was. I mean im not...
I was working on a short stack of Apple DISK II floppy Drives I marked as bad yesterday when I came across one that needs a new read head module (rides on the rails and has a wire connector lead to...
I'm aware of that. I have used my floppy emu on my LISA as a stop-gap but its SUPER SUPER SLOW and not a permanent fix.
I may have had to replace the tiny capacitors on the 400K drives. I honestly dont remember. Did anyone else have to replace caps on their 400K drives Mac or apple II?
You fot simtower to run on a 286? How?
Hello from Connecticut.
Your stuck with the 400k drive. You could use one from a macintosh early model. Goteks dont work on any apple floppy drives yet... Possibly never will.
Those drives can be rebuilt.. The old.grease...
you think so? So I am SOL?
It doesnt appear to be the same as aa1190, I get continuity to D10 and d9. L7 only gives me continuity to d10 and I get no continuity from D9 to ground.
Edit: So I guess I wasnt using...
