Thanks for the hunting This post method is pretty good and at least systems that folks might miss nearby could find a home from your efforts. Also, I've found many craigslisters willing to ship items in the past for those of you wondering, never hurts to ask. Yes most are doing it to find local interest but if they want it out or want a good home many are willing to chat on the phone, and do an old school deal.
Looking to acquire: IBM 5100, Altair 8800

    This is correct.

The past 6 months I bought a Roland LAPC-I + Roland MCB-1, a Roland RAP-10 and an Eizo 19" CRT through Craigslist with shipping involved so it works out fine. I just make sure I perform due diligence (e.g. verify addresses, phone people and such). Last week I picked up an IBM 5150 and some other stuff on Long Island, NY.

heh Ditto, last one I think was that owner of the museum (post buried somewhere) who was selling off a lot of the items from the museum. Nice fellow, was able to get my first MSX system from him. Was a bit nervous at first but after seeing pictures of the items, then later was checking his name out (valid) and checked his address out to see if I could correlate the two. They had street view in google so out of curiosity I checked it out just to see. I lol'd, his mailbox was awesome (old computer) no more concern after that.

That is awesome! I would not get away with that.

I bought a Roland SCD-15 through the Netherlands Craiglist this weekend (www.marktplaats.nl). It arrived today but I will only be able to test it end of the month.

    You missed this one.

At the bottom of the ad, the guy's advertising a Cipher F880 1/2" streamer with a Cipher S-100 controller included. The latter has to be unusual enough to garner some interest.

    Just outside of Eugene, OR

Cool! I do not check Craiglist globally except for sound cards. I only check for computers in the NYC metro area.

I corresponded with the guy from Creswell in the ad above and he adds this:

I have some other items to sell as well - 8 inch external floppy drive, 2 Kaypro 10s, one is #49 from the first run that I pre-ordered. I also have an original IBM PC with a Tall Trees card and a 5 MB CDC hard drive with the lock bar. I have an ATR-8000. That ATR was the first unit with a programmable floppy controller so you could burn floppies for different systems. I think it was designed as an Atari add-on device. That business died when Kaypro included Uniform to perform that function. I also have a Compaq 386, the one that really put Compaq into high gear.

I need a Pertec-to-QBus Tape Controller for my Cipher F880 tape drive. From
    the post:

"Any make & model will do:
    - DEC TSV05 controller M7196
    - Emulex TC & QT series
    - Dilog DQ series"
