Only in the 21st century is it considered acceptable to ask full price for something you can't be bothered to make sure works.
Be polite and I may let you live.

I think I did get this (paid for it anyway). I'm exploring options for getting it shipped. Seller won't ship, but will drop off. I'm mainly interested in the software, manuals and the main box.

However I'll take it all if someone in Pittsburg can help me out with shipping.

I've got two of the floppy boxes already, and a printer, so they could be resold, or recycled. But I'd love to retrieve them.

Let me know please if you can help, asap. I'd really appreciate it. Will compensate for time and trouble. vcfreply at jwsss.com directly.
    thanks

Jim - congratulations on getting it. If he'll drop off, you might try these folks: https://www.pakmail.com/stores/pak-m...-crate-freight

Somebody on the cctalk list recommended them. If I'd known about them sooner, it would have been mine, not yours...

There are times that I feel the same way, or that they already tested it and it didn't work, which is worse. But then again, some things are better left untested, until I buy it and do it in a controlled manner. First checking input voltage, or, say preserving mechanical elements, until they can be re-lubricated, etc.

I certainly don't think they should charge full retail. I recently sold some welding equipment as untested, but priced it far less than I otherwise would have, letting the experts, who buy it, sort it out.
