I have one from late 86, out of AU, 63.5W 220V PSU (but that died, so now it has a 130W XT PSU too). I don't remember the exact date.

Cool. I still need to get a few pics of my late-model PC.

Another thing to consider with early models does it still have the original BIOS or was it replaced?

I have one with the original 5700051 gold rom bios. I got the computer is super condition, I guessing, because the bios was bad and I'd bet someone put it in a closet for 30 years. I kept the BIOS but used a later version to run the computer. I documented this board here http://www.vcfed.org/forum/showthrea...highlight=5150 You might need to right click on each image to view it, I had to. The photos are still online.

I got IBM CPM and PC DOS for an OS for it. It also can run MS FLTSIM 1.0 that I have. It really is one of my prize possessions.

From what I understand is the 1st batch was 20,000 units.

Don't get upset with me but I believe those two units were from the 2nd batch released. The black power supply with recessed nuts and the plastic speaker mounts were not from the 1st batch that had a dk brown anodized? color with nuts on the top that were not recessed and a metal speaker mount. Still you got a couple of fine units. The 3nd and later batchs removed some holes in the back of the case.

I am ok with this, but is quite curious that my relatively later model (40/81 - early 1982 ) sold in may 1982 is still equipped with first version of bios. In contrast, my little earlier model (SN: 28260) is equipped with second version of bios.

I'd bet somewhere for whatever reason it was replaced. IE. The original went bad, then someone found a replacement cheap when others were upgrading and it was cast off.
