    Default osborne 1 software

    Hi all

Ive been looking for last few nights and i can find almost no software for the osborne 1 on the net.
all i have found so far is a zip file 'Lornes Special Osborne Software' - It holds images and manuals of applications like wordstar etc etc

I have not seen any games for the osborne 1 that i can download like Colossal Cave

    anybody have any ideas?

    Thanks People

The Osborne runs CP/M, which means there are a ton of programs available.
Osborne's CP/M boot disk already has a few games on it; like LADDER.
Assuming you've got a way to download programs and write them to actual Osborne floppies, you'll be running ZORK in no time.
    The software is out there.

If you need standard disks, you can get them from: http://www.retroarchive.org/maslin/index.html
There won't be many Osborne specific 'graphic' games around, but you can find some text adventure versions on:
    http://www.retroarchive.org/cpm/games/games.htm
There are also FOG (First Osborne Group) listings and files from a number of places.
You may try: http://www.znode51.de/fog/ -- The notes are in German, but the files are all there!

Can you post where you found "Lorne's Special Obsorne Software"? I have an Executive for which I think that archive contains a boot disk that I need. Mine has a Trantor hard drive and needs an Exec-T boot disk.

In general, I'd appreciate hearing from anyone from whom I could get a copy of an Exec-T-enabled boot disk! I'd be glad to trade copies of other Osborne software that I have - at least all the standard stuff, the UCSD P-System, etc. You can send me mail directly as vonhagen-at-vonhagen-dot-org. Thanks!

If you can process Teledisk .td0 files maybe I can help - I imaged my Osborne 1 disks some years back.

If you can figure out how to make disks, you need the Osborne 1 and Executive TOSEC.

I gotta make some disks myself soon. I've got an Osborne 1 and soon to have an Osborne Vixen; neither with disks.

I put up some of the Teledisk format Osborne 1 disks I copied 10 years ago in case anyone wants them:

CP/M, Wordstar, CBasic, MBasic, Dbase-II, Supercalc, some games. Some are of the same software - original owner's backups I presume, but copied anyway.

I thought that the FOG library was archived on archive.org (I haven't checked).
