I guess I'm one of the other 16, I've been hanging back as I won't have time to work on this right away. I own 2 model 12 computers that are in working order, so I'm definitely interested in 1 or 2 of these. As a precaution I have ordered the bus connectors so I will be ready when time permits.

Looking for: Altair 8800, Ithaca Intersystems boards, software, manuals. and Jade bus probe card.

    Hello Hans

I have a Model II with the usual cards: floppy, CPU, memory, video. There are slots free I think, but where to get the additional cards from? You never see them for sale for less than silly money. And one of those slots is about to get a Hans01 fitted

I'm not sure I can use the additional space in a model II - a 16 is different I guess...

    @JonB

There are a lot of low cost Model 12, they don't have a cardcage nor a busboard at all.
The FDC, I/O and Memory boards are integrated in the Motherboard.
There is one busslot on the motherboard and that is used for the videoboard.
These Model 12's cannot expanded and are very useless.
With the hans-04 you can use them as a Model 12 with expansion bus.
On the other hand you can use the hans-04 to easy repair bus boards.
Read about this in some postings above.

There were a lot of cheap Model II boards on Ebay, like Hi-Res graphics, Memory, 68000, FDC, Harddisk, hans-01, etc.

So if you have some hardware knowledge you can modify your excisting Model II family computers to a powerfull beast.

I have an idea, I don't think it's too radical... since the hard work has been done on the 3 slot busboard, it seems to me that the extra work to add three more slots in the CAD software would be relatively straightforward, which then generates the necessary gerber files for those who need more than three slots.

Yes, it would be rather more expensive than the 3-slot version but for those who want one would probably be happy to pay the extra.

I'll run it by Hans and P.H and see what they think.

    Cheers,

    Ian.

+1 You know I fully support this as it will allow a Model 12 to truly become a 16B/6000 compatible machine.

Yes I can make the change, but it is hard work !!!!
If I have no problem: Two days (16 hours)
If I have many problems (I have to change resistor networks): a work week ( 40 hours).
For example, draw the "Hans01" connector in my library represent two working days. Draw the "HANS03" a day !!!
I do this for free for fun, for exchange, as a hobby !!!
but why draw for model II, 12, 16 etc ...
I do not own these machines !!!

Draw Grafyx 3.2 cards; 4.2; 5.1 or Tandy 26-1125 and 26-1126 brings me more in my collection.

But when I asked for information on card except some people. I have no answers !!!! For example the card "Newclok-80 M1",I waited one year for the photos !!!!

So I can make these changes. But I expect in return for information and assistance for my collection

I have drawn you with cards free for fun. In return you still want more !!!! When I asked for information, you do not answer

For Hans and Ian, I will make those changes.
But every change wonder a work day. that I can't use for my collection

The automatic "CAD" do not exist except on advertisements

    Recherche

P.H, you always have the option to say no... I'm not enough of an engineer to speculate on how much time these things take and no one really minds if you take some time out to work on your other projects that are more interesting to you.

Let's just leave it at 3 slots for the time being and see how many people go for it.

Also some of this old aftermarket hardware is very difficult to find and we do our best to bring it to your attention when we find it.

I know it's been a busy year but by all means only do what you enjoy doing.
