Default Contributing to the tvdog Tandy 1000 archive

In 1997, I offered to host tvdog's Tandy 1000 archive on my infrastructure in perpetuity. 20+ years later, it's still there, at the same location. The web pages were frozen in the early 2000s, but the FTP site is still updated, usually whenever somebody unearths some Tandy 1000 (or higher) information that tvdog did not have in the archive circa 1997.

With some new material being unearthed from the recent Tandy liquidation auction, some people have asked how to contribute to tvdog's archive. Here's how:

    1. Upload your new information via FTP to ftp.oldskool.org in the /incoming directory
    2. Contact me with what was uploaded (either a PM via this site, or via trixter@oldskool.org)
    Offering a bounty for:
    - Documentation and original distribution disks for: Panasonic Sr. Partner, Corona PPC-400, Zenith Z-160 series
    - Music Construction Set, IBM Music Feature edition (has red sticker on front stating IBM Music Feature)
    - Any very old/ugly IBM joystick (such as the Franklin JS-123)

My RSX came with three small, stiff envelopes containing 1) Deskmate 3.04.04 (6 disks), 2) RSX Utilities & America Online (2 disks), 3) MS-DOS 5.0 (2 disks) - the missing RSX systems disks? I can image these and upload. Do you need the Utilities & AOL disks also?

I also have a nice copy of the 1000 RSX User's Guide, which I will happily loan to someone to pdf the 200+ pages.

I sent him a note earlier. This is the software I saw in my Tandy box. Let me know if you need any of these.

    Multiplan (Tandy 1000 - 25-152) - 5.25" disks for MSDOS 2.0.
    MS-DOS/GW-Basic (Tandy 3000/4000/5000 - 25-4109) - 5.25" disks with MSDOS 3.x
    Tandy 4800/4860 Windows installation/recovery disketts - 3.5" 1.44MB disks x 6
    Tandy Microsoft Works v2.0 - 3.5" 720K disks x 6
    B&F emulation fonts for 26-2804 LP1000 - 5.25" disk
Another set of Tandy 1000RL disks

I have some other Microsoft software too that was in another box that has Tandy SKUs:
    Tandy Q&A - 25-1225 1000/3000/4000 512K RAM (Symantec)
Tandy Microsoft Word v5.0 DOS - four 3.5" disks

I haven't taken a look through the tvdog archive recently, but just a reminder: Anyone would doing a great service by adding a proper disk dump and adding scans, even if there is already an older file-only archive.

Only zipped copies of the RSX Deskmate and utility disks exist in the archive. Please image the set you have and get them to Trixster when you have time. The RSX manual would also be great to have a digital copy of.

Is the copy of Q&A Write for Deskmate? If so that'd be another thing that could be crossed off the list.

Years ago Multiplan, Works and Word were somewhat outside of scope of what Jeff was trying to collect but would be nice to include if they are "Tandy branded" vs just normal retail versions.

    Thanks everybody!

I may have the original disks for the TL/3 in a box somewhere, I'll dig around this weekend.

Ok, I do have the TL/3 original disks. If you want these let me know and what format you want them in. I'll get to it this week.

Hard Disk Install (uses Deskmate from ROM)
MS-DOS 3.30.023 for Tandy TL/3 with Supplemental Programs
Deskmate 3.5.0 for Tandy TL/3 (Has a deskmate based setup utility, like SETUPTL3.exe, on Disk 4 I think.

Disk 3 or 4 may have a few weak spots, so I'll want to get them preserved on the site for others.

I would prefer either raw images or ImageDisk .IMD images.

Someone (you?) recently uploaded 360K diskette images that are not exactly 360K, so I'm not sure what to make of those; I don't trust them to be valid.

Remember kids, when uploading via FTP, always make sure your FTP client is set to BINary mode.
