    Default Intel Overdrive DX4 100mhz (DX4ODPR100) motherboard

    Hi All,

    Thanks for having me.

As the title suggests I'm looking for a motherboard to support that CPU with sufficient RAM and expansipn slots.

    Any recommendations?

Overdrives should work on ANY 486 motherboard. They're designed to be backward compatible.

Overdrives will not necessarily work in all 486 motherboards. The following is for IBM's PS/1 but the principle applies to other motherboards as well

Do you already have an Overdrive chip? Otherwise, try to buy a complete 486-100 with matching motherboard. Whole system that works would be better.

I think Overdrive is a bad value. The motherboard supporting an Overdrive 486 socket will often be much slower than one designed to have 486-100 placed in the primary socket.

Yes I know the reply is late sorry.

    Thank you for the information

    I've bought a 486 with a 66mhz CPU

I've got more questions though, but I'll start a new topic for those.
