I've got boxes of old MSDN CDs. I've wondered if it's even legal to sell them.

Most likely. Even if they were originally covered by an NDA I'm pretty sure that legally in most countrys and NDA has to have a set experiation date otherwise they would essentially be a mob-style gag order. Even if I'm wrong I highly doubt Microsoft is going to care about 20+ year old CDs that can't be ran under any recent and useful version of windows and even if they did they would be almost if not completely useless.

Well, it might be interesting for some in a historical interest. I've never (AFAICR) discarded an MSDN CD, just tossed it into a box. So I've got betas, release candidates, etc. of various products. Other than the historical interest, I suspect that they're of no use to anyone.

I've seen MSDN collections on ebah in the past and sold for very little or not at all, I have lots of MSDN /TechNet disc's, though i do remember destroying all the foreign disc's years ago.

I think most of the information on MSDN disks is now on the MSDN web site. Can't see any issue in selling, but as the info is on the web site, not of much value..

You assume Microsoft will keep that stuff online forever.

I wouldn't mind an MSDN Library of CDs.

I got a few binders of MSDN subscriptions here. LOTS of really handy things such as the VC++ extensions for Alpha and the Windows CE development environment, complete with virtual machine emulation. There was also a full set of install discs for Visual Studio 6 and the patches. There's tons of interesting goodies on those discs.
