Default Repair of missing case plastic

Wondering if anyone has any experience with this -- say you have a machine with a plastic case, and a chunk around a rounded corner is gone (2+ inches of it)... is it possible to reconstruct convincingly?

You can often do a "good enough" repair of missing parts using a polyester-based auto body filler with some fiberglass mesh for reinforcement. You'd have to sand and paint the result however.

But this all depends on the extent and nature of the damage.
