So the FCI tool was better than the Hozan tool according to your opinion? Better crimps or better becuase it is a single operation tool?

In the last picture it looks loke the contacts are turned 180 degrees. There should be small latch coming out of the connector housing. And the contact should go all the way as far as I understand.

I think that the contacts are fully inserted--the problem is that the ones purchased are for the "tall" Mini-PV shells.

Yusta be called "DuPont" or "Berg", but now everyone makes some variety of them and the nomenclature can be confusing.

All of them. Better Price, much better crimps, easy (single shot) Operation. I love this.

Arghh, the genuine terminal inserts fit very well in cheap china housing but not in the orginal FCI ones

I mean, if this is the case it's ok for me, the China housing are not priced like Gold.

I assume that you've run across this page, which discusses the subject of tools and Berg connectors in quite a bit of detail.

I generally buy my shells and pins from the same vendor at the same time. If they're Chinese, at least the two work together.

Well, that makes no sense at all. You did see on the cited page where the "real" thing has smaller clearance than the "clone"?

Exactly what's hanging up? Is it the insulation wrap part of the pin not clearing the shell?

    Ok, if found the trick!

I have to play a little with the tension setup thing (the part with the holes & numbers) to have perfectly round insulation cripms.
To much Tension make them not perfectly round and they want fit.
