    Default DIL Shunt supplies

    Folks,

anyone know who still supplies these DIP/DIL shunts - Ideally in the European Union ?

A couple of Northstar Horizons I recently acquired need them for addressing their floppy drives.

I realise I can probably make something up but would prefer not to use jumper wires into the DIP/DIL socket if I can avoid it.

    Thanks

You could always use one of these:

I just checked Digi-Key and they claim to have 6-position DIP shunts:

You could also use a 6-position DIP switch. like these

Gives you the luxury of being able to experiment or change.

Thanks Chuck - I did look at those and they really should be the way to go but the masochist in me wants the Northstar drives to look original.
The settings are unlikely to change once I have configures the two drives so happy with the old fashioned shunts. I'm unlikely to cut the links - just spread their legs a little so they are either in or out of the socket.

Digikey & Mouser both have TE (Alcoswitch) 8 position (16 pin DIP) shunts, P/N: 1825190-7. Digikey is a few cents cheaper. The datasheet says 4,6,7,8,10 & 12 position parts are still active.

    HTH,
    Tom
