    8k EPROMs are 2764
    They are 28 pin instead of 24 since more address lines are needed.
    They are not at all like a 2708

    Feh, I did that work for nothing, then, sigh.

    Yes, EPROMs are traditionally called by the number of bits they store. A 2708 is 8Kbit or 1KByte.

    There are (rather uncommon) 64Kbit/8KByte 24-pin EPROMs; the aforementioned MC68765 is one). But you can get 24-to-28 pin adapters for the JEDEC-pinned EPROMs.

    And you needn't go with UVEPROM; a 28xxxx series EEPROM is easier to program (no eraser needed) or even a 64Kbit parallel FRAM would do the trick.

    This is where I am lost. I thought 8k would be 2708 and not 2764 I will have all my re thinking about this.
    I only ask Question if I don't know and I will reply to question if I know.

    How many bits in a byte?
    2708 = 8192 bits
    2716 =16,348 bits
    2732 = 32,768 bits
    2764 = 65,536 bits

    For me this has become a problem so here what I might do. I will go here http://www.cloud9tech.com/ and buy a miniFLASH from him. But this is still a problem I don't have a floppy drive to get the file to use for the miniFLASH.

    I guest I need to find a lot of cheap Coco-2 rom's to play games.
    I only ask Question if I don't know and I will reply to question if I know.
