    Default Deskpro 66M Audio question

I just had this machine drop on my desk so I have done very little yet in terms of research or hunting down the utility diskette for the EISA bus but I immediately noticed that it seems to have integrated audio. The microphone uses a regular 3.5mm jack but the supposed output uses a Mini-Din 8 socket.

I have never come across something like that on a Compaq before, much less a 486. a Quick google is not finding any information about what is going on here. Does that photograph dust off any old memories?

I've seen the same thing on some AGP cards. I wonder if it doesn't simply match up with this or this.

6 months ago, there was a thread on it. http://www.vcfed.org/forum/showthrea...M-coming/page4 shows the item and the pinout to build your own.

Oh wow, now that is bizarre. Thank you for the link Krebizfan.

    SPEAKER OUT
    tip 1

I'll look over that entire thread to see what other info is hiding in there.
