Thread: Microsolutions Backpack Parallel Port 5.25 floppy drive

Default Microsolutions Backpack Parallel Port 5.25 floppy drive

Can anyone tell me how rare and sought after this drive is? I do not see any on ebay in the sold listings for the past 6 months and there are no pictures online of it. The latch does not come down and lock in place for some reason. It is stuck in the position it is in right now. Does this need power to do so?

Most 5.25" drives in that style don't let you latch down unless a disk is in the drive....

There are a few on Ebay but it isn't a big seller. You lack cable, power supply, and the little insert to keep the read/write heads from banging into each other. Double check where you picked it up in case other parts were separated.

Can you send me links to this particular model? Those ones on eBay are the CD or 3.5 ones.

Here is a completed auction for a rebranded one from Tandy. It’s the same thing. I have two of those

    Tandy 1000EX/SX/HX/TL3/RLHD, Tandy 2500SX-MultiMedia/SX-33, Coco 1, Coco 3, TRS-80 4p

Looking for a 1000TX mobo, EX/HX Serial / Parallel cards, and that little tab from the upper right corner of a Tandy keyboard that holds the function key labels in place
