Default Green CRT Conversion in Model 3

Is the conversion as simple as swapping the black and white tube for a green one? If so, what part numbers should I look for or is there a good source to purchase them from?

    TIA

    You want a 1208 from VDC. https://cathoderaytubes.com/collecti.../vdc1208dp31be

    Yes
Simply remove the video board, yoke and CRT from the case (Ian Mavric has a video on this).
    Steps:
    1. Using proper grounding discharge the anode on the CRT
    2. Remove the video connector on the CRT tube - be careful - pull it straight off. You may need a LITTLE twist to get it off
2a. Remove the video board assembly
    3. Remove the YOKE assembly
    4. Remove the CRT tube
    5. Remove the GROUNDING cable on the CRT tube
    6. Place the GROUNDING cable on the replacement CRT tube
    7. Re-assemble the CRT tube to the case
    8. Re-assemble the YOKE
    9. Re-assemble the video board
    10. Re-attach the anode
    11. Re-attach the video connector to the CRT tube (be careful again)
    12. See Ian Mavrics video on aligning the image on the CRT tube by rotating the YOKE

I sell replacement CRT'S both B/W and Green

Send me a PM if you are interested in purchasing one

    Hey Arrow! Long time.

Yes I have done it to 2 model III's picture clears up quite a bit. If you want a nice sharp display try to get a Model 4 video board and swap out with the Model III board. I did that to 1 MIII system. Which I still regret selling that one!

And do exactly as @Jay says above about swapping out! those CRT's bite hard. I know I got zapped by one.
