Thread: Gotek

    Default Gotek

Has anyone ever used a Gotek? Here is a link of one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3-5-1-44MB-...1c75%7Ciid%3A1

My question is if I install Dos 6.22 and don't have a real floppy drive will a Gotek work as A: drive and install?

It's been discussed before, so you may want to search for related posts. There's also plenty of information on the web, including alternate firmware possibilities for non-MS-DOS HD floppies.

As long as you can put Gotek-format images on a flash drive, your system shouldn't see any difference between the Gotek and a real floppy drive.

To directly answer your question, yes.

Frankly, I found floppies more convenient.

Yes I have them, and have even reflashed the firmware on them. They work. They work on many different platforms for many different formats.

to answer your question, yes. But it may not be as straightforward as you think till you get used to how to use one(gotek).
