Thread: H851 contacts

  1. #1

    Question H851 contacts

I was wondering is anyone has an idea for replacement contacts in the H851.

I have this connector and I restored two others with contacts of
this one (which was missing contacts already).

I would love to get this one complete again too.
(And if this one is complete I still need one more H851)

    Ronald,

Can you take the pins out of an H803 and use them?

    Hello Lou,

Are these H803 the wire wrap versions?
They will probably fit, but I don't have these either...

    Hi Harry,

Thanks, and yes I've seen them. But when I buy one it will cost
me 100 Dollars total with shipping and customs... Just for one H851
Thats is the problem when the nice stuff is in the US and I'm in Europe...

As escape I could use these single connectors and put two on a new H851 PCB.
But somehow I prefer to keep them together with the wire wrap board...

    Roland,

Send me a PM with your postal address and I will send you a wire wrap H803. It may take a little while to cross the pond, but may be worth the wait. Some of the pins were soldered to for bussing, but I think it can all be cleaned up for pin extraction.

Maybe you have an extra M993 replica? I too have an RK8E/RK05 project awaiting my attention, with no M993 in hand.

    Hello Lou,

Great! I will sent you an PM. I've got a few more M993 ordered.
So when you give me your address I will sent you one once I have received them myself.

    Regards, Roland

    Folks,

Roland told me that he couldn't find any good photos of H803 blocks. Here are some glamour shots of an H803 when I dug some out to send to Roland:

This block was made by GTE Sylvania. There is a tiny triangle S lightning bolt logo in the middle front of the block. Perhaps this is not surprising since Sylvania was also a Massachusetts company.
