The strangest thing

I saw someone watching a cartoon, and in it there was a cartoon representation of what was clearly a Sun Ultra 10 (or similar tower-case Ultra) complete with fake Sun logo on the side of the case.

Any idea what the show was? I'm curious. Only series I can think of offhand that did such clear homages was Serial Experiments Lain, which has a pretty obvious stack of Sun pizza-boxes shown at various points.

I'll see if I can figure it out. It was a children's show. The main character appeared to be a spiky purple-haired kid, if memory serves.

That's a Sun Ultra 25 or 45 series machine. If you look carefully you can see a number of people with Sun's large LCD screens and Sun's peculiar keyboard layout.


Wikipedia says Sid the Science Kid aired from 2008 to 2013 and Sun was absorbed into the Oracle amoeba in 2010 and the entire lineup went under the axe. The machines were available with SPARC until 2008 when they became pretty looking x86-x64 boxes.
