Default Apple Lisa Widget HD stuck on LLF

    Got a Lisa 2/10 H/88.
When I load Basic Lisa Utilities (BLU), and try to low level format the widget drive it gets stuck on step five.
    See pics
It goes on that step for about 1 minute and the the HD light stops blinking. I let it stay running for a bout 10 more minutes, but no change.
I have tried this a couple times and get the same result.
I pulled out the drive and turned it over. I moved the head servo back and forth a couple times just to make sure it could move to full position in either direction. Going clockwise requires a bit more force, the counter clockwise. I get the same result after this maneuver.
I have reseated the top socketed IC's, but not the one on the third board down.
I have tried this when the drive was warmed up, and when it was cold. No change.

    Any hope for this drive?

If have I have a 3rd party external drive for a Lisa. It dose not boot a Lisa on power up (drive on first). How could I boot from it?
    Thanks

Please tell me you tried that with the drive actually spinning, otherwise you were dragging the parked heads across the surface of the disk.....

Yes is was spinning. It must have that little air crushing that happens with the air inside.

There is an adjustable brake, maybe it's stuck. You need a set of feelers used to set gap on engine valves. There are instructions online on how to adjust the brake for the widget drive.
