Default Hey everyone! I'm new here, sort of.

    Hi,

I joined this forum more than 10 years ago, and apparently then forgot about it.

But I'm back. So I recently purchased a couple of PC machines.

    - One is an original IBM PC/AT which won't turn on (gonna look at those capacitors).
    - The other is a Leading Edge 486SX machine mini AT case. It starts up but I will need to supply my own hard drive. I also bought a VLB motherboard and some other stuff. I plan experiment with this Leading Edge case as test bench for different hardware and OSes such as OS/2. I hope to produce some YouTube videos about my experiments.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Lots of IBM AT (IBM 5170) information at minuszerodegrees.net

See if the computer powers on with all cards removed. If it does, and you have an IBM CGA card ([here]), then suspect C8 on that card. If it does, and you have the first generation of the combined floppy/hard controller ([here]), then suspect C45 and C46 on that card.

Note the '5170 may not start if hard drive removed' section at [here].

Hi I have an AT that also won't turn on. Fan spins intermittently, that's all. I found it on the road with my Wang. Both were used in a bank called Chase. best of luck with yours.
