Interesting! Thanks for the clarification. I figured it was something related but different, since the screen was of a different style, but you can never be entirely sure with the movies. Is the screen display shown in the movie accurate for a D-1118, or was it something superimposed as tends to happen with this stuff?

Damn, it's bigger than I estimated. Can't even move it a bit forward because the shifter is in the way...

Looks like you might want to take a sawzall to the dash board.

How did I miss this thread? That thing is amazing. And props for choice of vehicle too.

Looks like it only needs a bit of massaging to fit. I see serial ports on the back, so you can get rid of all those bulky HVAC controls with a little soldering work. Just saying.

HVAC is all lever actuated. Likewise the car is eligible for collectors plates due to excellent condition and modifications that drastic would make it ineligible. A new mount would have to be custom but I'm not about to make something that either makes the bench seat unusable or is an inconvenience for a passenger. I'll have to put this to the side for now until I can design a solution.

Could you convert the car to a column shift?

Clearly, you need to purchase a vintage Crown Vic for your computer...

That sucks. Moving the shiftier to the column would free up a lot of space.
Ether way this is looking cool as it is. Can't wait to see what you work out.
