Default Trying to download firefox using internet explorer 8 but can't find any working site

My main Windows 8.1 pc is currently taken apart and I really don't want to put all the parts back together so I can go back on the internet. The only backup online capable pc I have now is a Windows xp laptop. It has Internet explorer 8 but i can't find any site that will let me download an old version of firefox. What sites still work? Possibly could someone upload an old firefox for me on here please? Thanks.

All the releases back to 0.8 are still available here: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/

If you are looking for a browser to run *ON* windows XP, you really want "NewMoon", a current port of PaleMoon that supports Windows XP, with versions for CPUs with or without SSE2.

I have a few versions up to 15 on my website:

    http://sanzen.in/tech1/Applications/Firefox/

IE8 is becoming more broken every day due to sites using modern SSL and TLS, which IE8 doesn't support. Google and DuckDuckGo used to be old browser friendly until recently when they started forcing SSL. Bing still strangely works, but the page layout usually gets mangled.

If you download Firefox 15, you'll have to use the updater in the help menu several times to get it updated. If the machine has a CPU older than a Pentium 4 or Athlon 64, you'll be limited to Firefox 48, else it will eventually kick you to the ESR branch and I think 52 is the latest you can update to.

You don't need any off the wall browsers for XP. Search for Mozilla Firefox vers. 48.0. After a successful install, it will ask you to upgrade but be careful as your system may not be able to handle it. Works real well on my old gamer box and it's fairly snappy too.

Appreciate the help guys. Yesterday I went to oldapps.com to look for any browser that will run. I found old versions of Google Chrome on there and instead of it attempting to download from the site and then failing like it usually does on IE8, it instead let me go directly to Google Chrome's homepage. Surprisingly Google Chrome's homepage is working on IE8 and I was able to download the latest Chrome for XP. It's so nice of these guys, even though they are an evil company. From Chrome, I was able to download my preferred browser Firefox in version 52.9.0 on a download site.
