Default SGI CD Part Numbers page resurrected

    See https://terminals-wiki.org/wiki/inde...D_Part_Numbers

This was on the nekochan wiki and I managed to find a copy of it from 2016 on archive.org.

Great work! thanks for doing this and in particular showing exactly what has been archived. As an aside to viewers, many other systems would benefit from a similar approach (hint hint

I have a whole box of SGI CDs so I can now work through them and add any I have that are missing from the list.

When it says it's been archived, it means that I personally have ripped a copy of the CD and I have the CD.

This was mainly for tracking my own efforts, which is why I never moved it from my user space on the nekochan wiki.

For coordinated efforts, the table should start tracking who has made the archive.

The part number list is by no means complete, but everything that is on there is verified accurate to the best of my knowledge.

MAME is getting close to getting simulation working.
An issue has popped up that rips that are out there may not have been done correctly.

Is that problem where CDs with OS installation media need to be ripped with 512-byte sectors?

I recall that you have to use a CD-ROM with 512 byte sector support if you wanted to be able to boot from it on actual hardware.

I think Sun (and DEC?) workstations had some similar requirements and PCs never did, so you have to pick the CD-ROM carefully for it to work, or boot from the network.

I just noticed there are some SGI CD images on bitsavers; I'll be linking those into the list as I get time.

OK, the majority of the CD images on bitsavers are now linked from the list. If the Archived? columns says "Yes" as a link, then it's a link to the .img file on bitsavers for that part number.

The remainder of the CD images on bitsavers have been linked into the page.
