Thread: Apple II Keyboard Issues

    Default Apple II Keyboard Issues

So my Apple II has an Issue with the keyboard I would like to ask about, It's either a bad Cap or a broken/cold soldier joint. When first powered up the keyboard keys will not respond, only CTRL & Reset will work. If I leave it on and wait for a while, maybe 10 min or so the keyboard will work fine. I wanted to toss this around before going out and purchasing another keyboard witch are insanely priced on ebay to my opinion.

There are several versions of the Apple II keyboard. Which version do you have?

If your keyboard has a separate keyboard encoder board, you may want to try replacing it with another one (relatively cheap on eBay.)

    Here is what I have:

I may have fixed the problem. A possible cold/broken soldier joint. Like I previously stated it would work fine once it was warmed up, but would not at first boot when it was cold. Thank's for all the help.
