Default IBM Mwave Card P/N 75H9986

Does anyone have one of these in their pile of stuffs? I know some of them could be a problem, but I'm trying to restore my Aptiva to original condition.

    Thanks,
    Daniel

I thought it would, and it may, but after installing and even doing a factory recovery the diagnostics don't detect the card. I suspect it may be a software mismatch because this version of the card out of a 2176 isn't the same that is a 2159, so while I am doing some "engineering", I am still on the lookout for the 75H9986 FRU.

Only the representation that is in the hardware reference manual which looks like:

    mwave2159.JPG

The one I got from Mike looks like:

From what I can ascertain is the one for the 2159 is plug and play and that is the one I am looking for but do not have. The one from Mike comes from a 2176 and has a FRU of 55H7418 (even though all I can find in the documentation is 55H7419). I've gone through and downloaded the drivers for the 2176 and installed them on the 2159 but the diags don't find the card.

I have this one, but not sure what model # it corresponds to. Is it any use to you?

It appears to be the same model number as the one that Mike sent me, so I'm not sure if it would be a help or not. I'll just have to hold out for one of the SKU's I posted above.

If that's the one that has the phone plug on it and could act as a voicemail server, I never found the software that worked with it, even back in the 90's. I was even an IBM dealer, and could never find it.

It could and the RingWave software was a preinstall on the Aptiva's, but I need either a working Mwave or the separate sound card and modem IBM loaded in these things which I have another Mwave on order. So we'll see how that works. I've installed three different variations of the Product Recovery for the 2159, I've even manually installed Mwave drivers, no luck... yet.
