I would try sealing the computer in a large plastic bag with a few silica gel bags. If the issue is moisture, that should cure it.
PCjr, DTK PC-XT Turbo, 386DX 33, 486 laptop, Pentium 120, Pentium III 500, various old laptops, Commodore Colt, all working. I also have a 286 that I need to see if I can repair.

A thought was to dismantle the LCD and place it in a food dehydrator for a week and see what results you get.
    = Excellent space heater

I was thinking to do the same...
My Idea is to measure humidity and temperature, let the computer home for example for 10 minutes and make a photos.
Then to put in a vacuum bag with some silica bags in it and wait for some times... I was thinking about a months... let's see!
