Thread: Anyone else have this bug in Rufus USB maker?

Default Anyone else have this bug in Rufus USB maker?

Here is a url to the exact error I receive:

    https://ibb.co/HnKDqd4

This same message happens every time I first try to safely eject a USB drive after it is done being created with Rufus. I close Rufus before telling the drive to eject. After I tell it to eject a second time, it always does. I've had this error on various Windows 7 and 8.1 systems and custom Windows ISOs. I've had it happen with older Rufus versions and the latest version. Do you think it would affect anything? At least it warns me.

Good to know, but I've never heard of Windows XP Service Pack 5... So they're still making unofficial updates for XP?

There have been updates to the unofficial SP4, since 2014.

Well, I suspect that SP5 includes a rollup of various KB patches; if you install the old "unofficial SP4" and then update, there is perhaps more than 100 KB updates to go, particularly if you're using the POSReady version.

    After further review . . .

It appears that both of the links are problematic:

    1) the 1st one is dead end.

    2) the 2nd one has a typo in the heading as it was meant to be SP3.

All this for a typo. It should read SP4.

Perhaps not a typo (which indicates an unwitting error). Could also be clickbait. Anyone for SP7?

It's only clickbait if I had included a linque.
