Default My Compaq 4/25 has an extra battery. What is it for?

One of my Compaq's has this, the other not (just an empty space)

My guess is, it gives you just enough power that you can hot-swap the main battery without needing to power down first.

Maybe it is the equivalent of the 'resume' battery shown at [here].

A description of what Toshiba call 'resume' is at [here].

Looks like that's it, according to this:

Odd that they'd offer it for a Contura 3/25 (386-based machine) since that pre-dated Win95 (and it's suspend function) by some time. I'm sure certain versions of Win3.x had such a feature, though I've never seen it...

Not sure if it's the camera but the connector on the logic board is looking a bit green. You might want to remove the battery before it leaks any more.

Good point. If it's not got any kind of a charge, it's just sitting there being a potential hazard.

It looks like some sort of potting compound or glue to me, not really green/blue enough to be corrosion. Though the picture quality is crap so it's hard to see.
