Re-recapping with the correct value capacitors, couldn't hurt

Re-fitting it with an ATX supply is nice, but what is the wattage of the PSU that you used? Maybe a lower power one would create less heat? If you can't find a way to cool it, you may need to revisit the PSU you used.

Switching power supplies with higher capacities don't automatically create more heat because they only supply the current demanded from them. Higher capacity switching power supplies often create less heat because the components are stressed less due to having higher ratings. This also was a TFX style PSU, not ATX. ATX power boards are too large to fit in a SE power supply enclosure.

The original SE PSU produced far more heat than the TFX replacement does.
