    I bought a similar kit (actually it might be the same one, but came off Amazon rather than eBay) to fix my Zeos floppy drive.

    There was a belt in there that worked, but I had to stretch it first (left it around a bottle that was slightly larger than the belt diameter for a week or so) because it was a little too tight to allow the motor to get going.

    I have a similar issue with portable 3.5" FDDs for my vintage Toshiba Tecra 510/730 laptops. Motors spin, but not enough belt friction to spin a disk. Bought the kit and will see what happens!
