    A profiler is a resident program that uses a periodic interrupt to sample the P-counter address, then bumps a count in a "bin" corresponding to a range of addresses. It's very useful for identifying how much time the CPU is spending in any given code location.

    hey, quick update.
    swapping MSDOS 3.3 into the machine, removing Zenith DOS 3.3 Plus, seems to have resolved this. It works like it is supposed to now. Something strange with that. Anyhow stock MSDOS 3.3 does the trick
