Well its that time again and the wife is asking me for ideas.

So what does a vintage computer enthusiast want ?

I would love an Altair or IMSAI (I wish) but does anyone make replica kits that would scratch the itch ?

    What would you ask for

PiDP-8 or PiDP-11 or Altairduino are all great kits!

I really like the looks of the IMSAI replica from Australia but it’s not cheap, shipping will probably be brutal, and availability is unknown.

Saw the Altair one, but would like more of a replica inside too.

The ones on the net all seem to have fallen by the wayside or have been individual projects to share rather than a Christmas present idea.

    Ah well, chiclett PET

Probably should build an Altairish case for my multibus cards.

Oh so many projects. Need to retire.

    Hi Folks,

To answer to OP's original question, I'd like to get to play with a Compucolor 2. I remember the adverts in the computer press and they looked stunning for the day. I know they weren't perfect but I'd love a chance to find out for myself.

    Cheers,

    Andy.

They would do well to package things up as a set. It wont be a present idea if I have to specify each components, ah well. possibility for the future.
