Default Tandy 3000 HD (no HD) issues

No hd present, no floppy drive diode activity, 2 short beeps, no display. K/b diodes flash normally. Does it sound like the display adapter is bad? I don't have any other working machines at the moment to test it. I'd have to dig for another video card.

I could also use the setup disk. Unless the IBM 5170's will work.

Do the HX or NL setup programs work?

Ok found the "Tandy 3000" setup disk on oldskool.org. I assume that's the item I'm after.

Generally speaking two beeps just indicates a POST error/errors. If the RTC/CMOS battery is flat that could be the cause, date and time not set for others.

Always try to use a manufacturer-specific Setup diskette, there's no telling what deviations from "standard" exist, or additional ROM BIOS checks will be done.

But in either of those two cases nothing shows on the screen?

Then the video adapter is probably your next port of call. These should be initialised during POST ROM BIOS area scan.
