    Default Compaq Portable opening

    Hello,

I have troubles with opening my Compaq. Is there some trick? I watched some videos on Youtube and I dint see any problem with that.
I can open it only like this (picture) nothing more, I tried as hell and nothing. This is bottom plate, upper is already opened.

It won’t open any further than that? Very odd. You have all of the tabs undone, so it should come off. I’d suggest shining a flashlight in there and see if you can spot any that might be holding it.

Try almost closing it, pulling it outward (toward the handle) and then open, then inward (toward the handle) and then open. Or try jiggling it left and right.
It looks like something is sticking at the monitor-side of the panel.
Current favorites: IBM 5160 (EGA+Hercules+PGC, 4 floppies, XT-IDE), Compaq Portable ii (replaced PSU and keyboard, EMS card), ASR 33 Teletype (now FULLY armed and operational!)
Wishlist: IBM 5161 (expansion chassis), IBM 5175 (monitor for PGC), IBM 3270 PC keyboard card, DG Nova IO controller, and the meaning of life.

    Not helped at all...

Its looks like there is some plastic spot, which is not moving with whole panel, but i cant identify what can it be. This spot is not accessible from inside so if is there some screw, I cant move with it.
