    Hello Pete,

I encourage you (like others have suggested) to use ebay's global shipping program.

I have purchased dozens of, well, bits of old computers, using this program, and it has worked very well for me.

Including a fully loaded BA23 enclosure (about 60 lbs?) that went all the way from the US to my doorstep in Israel for US$175.92, which I thought was an absolute bargain.

And you will definitively get a better price for your items as they are almost unobtainable outside US.

OK, I just turned on Global Shipping Program.
Can someone from outside the U.S. confirm that the active listings are available to you via GSP? I can't tell...

Also, it appears that items that already have bids cannot be changed to allow GSP.
I think I have successfully changed the things with no bids.

Thanks Pete, the GSP option on your items seems to be working for me. I think I'm not the only one who appreciates it. I was at a loss for your previous idea of using a US friend as a proxy as I don't have any stateside relatives, or friends there whom I would impose upon to forward on eBay stuff (they'd probably get sick of that pretty darn quickly
    Thanks again.
    Steve.

OK! I see that I now have bids from non-U.S. folks.
Thanks for your encouragement for me to get over the "Sheer Horror" [ ] of the Tek o-scope selling/shipping debacle I described last week.
BTW, the last chapter of that story:
In the original listing, I had estimated the size of the package with the plug-ins installed. But the buyer asked to me to ship the plug-ins wrapped separately on the outside of the unit. He also listed a bunch of rules about how much padding was needed etc. Sounded reasonable. When I took the unit to FedEx to ship it, the recommendation was double-boxing. Then he told me the bill to ship to the re-shipper in Florida: $278!! The eBay estimate had been $126, using the original package size.
This was not really the buyer's fault, but the lesson learned was that with larger, heavier things, the SIZE of the package (not the weight) makes a huge difference in the price.

Also, for the next batch starting Sunday, I'll plan to do a relatively large number of items, to increase the chance that folks can get multiple things and combine shipping costs.
