OTOH, you can give us the website or news story so we can see for ourselves. Otherwise, unfounded rumors like this can be considered nearly as dangerous as the virus itself.
$30,000 profit on $100,000 in sales after $70,000 in purchases.

So he (maybe) made $30,000, and not $100,000.

Ummm... according to the CBC story, let's see $70,000 at $20 ea = 3500 packs; if they all sell at $89 (apparently unlikely at this point) that would be 3500 * $69 profit = $241,500

A small discrepancy there; sounds like they may have a few left in stock though...

But no question, as in every disaster or war some folks are going to make a lot of money...

"MANCHESTER, NJ — A Manchester Township man is the first Ocean County resident to have a presumptive positive test for new coronavirus in New Jersey, state and county officials said Friday.

The man, who is 72, is hospitalized at Ocean Medical Center in Brick and has been there since March 9, said Daniel Regenye, public health coordinator for the Ocean County Health Department. The man is stable and recovering, he said."

I saw on the news that there was a line-up nearly 1km long of shoppers waiting for a Melbourne Costco to open. The news reporter on site showed the line stretching out of sight, and the front door of the Costco way in the distance in the other direction. Crazy.

The government here has banned groups of more than 500 people. New Zealand has closed its borders to open travel. Anyone going there must go into 14-day quarantine.

Spain just declared a state of emergency, planes on the way there had to turn around and go back home.

Not a sheet of toilet paper to be had around here.

    People have gone crazy.

Need to time having a dump with work hours.

You must be a union worker

Every dollar store seems to be fully stocked, just get the scratchy stuff,
It’s not like the zombie apocalypse is coming, we have 5 years of corn stores, needless to say even if everyone buys up stuff needlessly you won’t starve and will have plenty of water.
