    Default Need pinout for MAcintosh Apple IIe card pn# 590-0703-A

    I came across an apple IIe card (PDS Slot card for early Macintosh computers) part number 590-0703-A. The Y-cables are nigh impossible to find at a reasonable price. Figured Id just recreate a new Y-cable but I cant seem to find a pinout online. I checked http://wiki.apple2.org/index.php?title=Pinouts and unless its hidden I cant find it there.

    Any info on the pinouts to recreate this cable would be appreciated! Thanks.

    Hello VERAULT;

    I think you can find the information yo need on "http://www.savagetaylor.com/2019/12/04/setting-up-an-apple-iie-emulator-card-in-your-68k-macintosh/".

    Also, they mention make sure you replace the two capacitors on the card as they do leak and will destroy traces on the card making it useless. I almost lost one of my cards by waiting too long to re-cap all my macintosh stuff.

    Thanks Dawsoca, Exactly what I was looking for. Yes I will be sure to replace the SMD Caps. Sort of been on an early MAC SMD cap replacing bender it seems lately. From what I have seen. ALL smd caps from back then are bad. Which I find amazing. I have come across plenty of eletrolytics far older which work great. Apple either cheaped out or SMD caps by nature just plain suck! I will assume that latter. I replace them all with through hole caps anyway.

    SMD capacitors were a relatively new technology in the late 80s and had teething problems with the electrolyte and the seals well into the late 90s. Pretty much any SMD cap from that time span is going to have failed by now, even in non-apple products. I have a Voodoo5 5500 that had the same garbage SMD caps that leaked and I had to replace them as well.
