This reminds me. I pulled the battery from one of my Deskpro 286 systems and it was a 7.2 volt battery. It's a Tadiran pack for which I cannot find a replacement. The problem is the voltage. I've found 3.6 volt replacements online, and several AA battery pack sizes, but that's an odd voltage.

Edit: I've found replacements online, but they run about $25.

I'm assuming a 3.6v isn't enough, but if I get an AA battery holder, would x4 (6 volts) be enough?

Try it and see. My 486 was still keeping CMOS setting when the 3v lithium battery was reading 1.01v in-circuit.
