    Default 286 Memory managers

What can I use for a memory manager on a 286? I have a 286-16 loaded with device drivers and now I am stuck just under 500K of RAM (4MB on the motherboard).

To be honest I had a 286 back in day but I don't recall what I did about 640K optimization other then special boot disks for games. My system back then didn't have more then 1MB.

IIRC you need an UMB provider to be able to load DOS or drivers high: http://www.mdgx.com/umb.htm#HIR

Jeff Procise also had a memory manager for a 286 included with his books of "DOS x Techniques & Utilities"...
